Wave Length Magazine: Jeff & Michael Zimbalist on Making 'Momentum Generation'

"The further into the story we got, the more sources we discovered, and our team soon became determined to amass the most comprehensive archival collection on the Momentum Generation to date. Ultimately, we licensed footage from over a hundred archival sources, pulling treasures from tens of thousands of hours of intimate archival from the Momentum crew’s personal cameras to thousands of hours of contest and lifestyle footage collected over the decades."

Kelly Sims is a storyteller & archival researcher based in Durham, North Carolina who takes pleasure in setting goals, and works tirelessly to get the job done. Driven by her passion to tell stories that inspire and connect us, Kelly began her work as Assistant Editor and Archival Clearance Coordinator for Momentum Generation after continuing her education at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke. She has worked on numerous projects as a Freelancer. Most notably for FoxSports, NFL Network, HBO, PBS & CiscoTV, in many aspects from pre-production to delivery but her sweet spot is Assistant Editing and Archival Research. Prior to her work as a Freelancer, Kelly received her BA in Photography from the University of Florida in 2009. During her time there she traveled as a Photographer to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti for nonprofit Planting Peace. She also led collaborative community-based art projects and provided therapeutic arts services to clinics and schools in Rwanda and The Gambia as an Artist-In-Residence. And she's archived the work of Reuter's war photographer, Dan Eldon for Creative Visions in Los Angeles and assisted Iconic country photographer Jim McGuire of Nashville in archiving his work. "Kelly is fantastic! Not only a skilled editor, but very good investigative skills on archival research. She and I worked side-by-side and she is thorough, persistent and organized. On Momentum Generation, Kelly was able to locate sources back to the 80's that no one else could find, she contacted them and also followed through on some key licenses. She knows what material would be the best fit for the story line and has a great eye for images and content. She has a great attitude, sense of humor and is all around GREAT to work with. " - Shawna Brakefield, P.G.A Co-Producer on Momentum Generation
